# Disable Windows Defender - Dcontrol

Disabling Windows Defender Using Sordum DControl Tool to ensure that anti-virus settings have been disabled, please use the **Sordum DControl Tool**. Follow the steps below to utilize the tool:

1. **Download Defender Control** from the link below:

2. **Unzip** the downloaded file and run the program. (If needed, download [WinRAR](https://www.win-rar.com/))
3. **Input the Password** `Sordum` to open the file.
4. **Extract all files** to a folder of your choice.
5. **Run the dControl file as Administrator.** You should see the option to disable Windows Defender.
6. The color should change to **Red** (from Green/Yellow) when Windows Defender is successfully disabled.
